A new chapter begins in the history of finway: I am delighted to welcome Norman Rohr as the new CEO at finway and to work with him to set finway up for the next phase of growth.

I look back proudly on what we have achieved so far: the successful seed financing in 2021. Then – despite the crisis mood in the start-up scene – the Series A round in early 2023, in which we were able to raise around 10 million dollars from well-known investors such as Capital 49 and Btov. Despite well-funded competitors in the market, we managed to establish finway as a strong player in the field of spend management for German SMEs and win over customers such as MILES, Recup, DeepDrive and Pitch.

The period since the company was founded in 2020 has been characterized by strong growth, which has successfully carried finway to cash flow breakeven. The coming years will bring new challenges. For these, we would like to bring in Norman Rohr, an experienced manager, for strategic and operational development.

Norman Rohr, CEO von finway

Norman Rohr brings years of leadership experience in the areas of product and go-to-market for B2B companies in the SME sector, which he gained at Google, Uberall and Xentral, among others. This, combined with his experience in finance, makes him exactly the asset we need to shape the next phase of finway’s growth.

From now on, the management of finway consists of Norman Rohr as CEO, my co-founder & CTO Philipp Rieger, our CRO Christian Weisbrodt and myself. Csaba Krümmer, Managing Director and co-founder of finway, is stepping down from operational management at his own request, but will remain involved in the Board, among other things.

Of course, even with new management, we remain true to our vision: with finway, the finance department becomes the backbone of the company by empowering finance teams with smooth accounts payable processes to work efficiently and provide the necessary data basis for strategic decisions. We owe the realization of this vision to our team and especially to our customers, whose feedback has helped us build and expand finway over the past 4 years.

With Norman in management and our established team, I see finway as excellently positioned to capture the dynamic growth of the market and continue on its path to becoming the market leader in spend management software for German SMEs.
